This week we are working on Subtle Mind practice and I didn’t
mind this one at all. I am using the mp3 as a sort of training. These are
practices that do not need another person to guide you. The only frustration I
had was the women’s voice interrupting. I have also been practicing the Loving –Kindness
and have found that without the woman’s voice interrupting I find the practice
relaxing and quite meditative. Breathing or breath and using it to keep me
focused during my meditation is something I do often. I like the idea of using
our breath to let go of all the mental movement. I don’t think we can say we
don’t like this practice after only a week. It takes weeks, if not months to
train our minds to let go. A week is too short. And if we ourselves aren’t open
to the practice then it will never be more than frustration. These things take
time and many of us think our lives are too busy to practice these meditative
ways.
I’ve used these practices in my daily meditation, I just
didn’t have names for them. So while it’s guided for our exercises, it doesn’t
have to be that way in the future if you choose to learn the technique.
Meditation has brought a spiritual wellness to my life and
it has increased my awareness to my surroundings and how all of it affects my
total being. I manifested this when I started my journey to get healthy over
ten years ago. It all started with a show on Oprah and from her introduction to
things beyond medical health to spiritual health I began to understand what was
missing. I continue today with meditation and the practice of the Tao to
nourish my spiritual self.
